Carolina Sweeps Canes In ACC Semis

CARY, N.C. - Top seed North Carolina will play for a fourth-consecutive ACC Women's Tennis Championship after posting an impressive 4-0 shutout of Miami in a semifinal match on Saturday afternoon from Cary Tennis Park.
Carolina will face third seed Duke on Sunday in the ACC Championship title match at 2 p.m. It's a rematch of last season's final that went to the Heels by a 4-2 score line.
North Carolina (28-1) saw its doubles teams of No. 6 Makenna Jones and Cameron Morra on court two, and Sara Daavettila and Alle Sanford on court three record victories to put the second-ranked Tar Heels ahead 1-0.
Carolina, who extended its winning streak to 19 matches in a row, won five of six first sets in singles. No. 41 Cameron Morra, playing in her first ACC Championship, was first off on court four, 6-2, 6-1.
No. 118 Jessie Aney, competing in her final ACC Championship, quickly made it 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-4, victory on court five for her 126th career victory, fourth most in program history.
No. 7 Alexa Graham finished off the No. 21 Hurricanes on court two, 6-2, 7-5. Graham's 101st career win in only three seasons puts UNC into Sunday's title match at 2 p.m. against Duke.
A win on Sunday would give Carolina a fourth-straight league crown and the 10th in program history.
