Smith, Walker Qualify for USGA Amateur Tournaments

CHAPEL HILL – Incoming freshman Kayla Smith and rising senior Brynn Walker have qualified for their respective USGA Amateur Tournaments. Smith qualified for the US Girl's Junior Amateur in Stevens Point, Wis. July 22-27. Walker will compete at the US Women's Amateur August 5-11 in West Point, Mississippi.

Smith won the USGA Junior Girls' qualifier on June 17 with a low score of 70 to earn a spot in this week's tournament. Each round tees off at 8 a.m. ET at SentryWorld which features a par 72, 6,305 course in Stevens Point, Wis.

Walker qualified with an even 72 finish on July 17 at Raritan Valley Country Club in Bridgewater, N.J. The USGA Women's Amateur takes place August 4-11 at the par-72, 6,547-yard Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
