Meet the Heels: #34 Gaby Katz

This week's Meet the Heels segment continues with the sophomores. Gaby Katz is a pitcher/utility player from Helotes, Texas. Katz made her collegiate debut as a pinch runner vs. Campbell, scoring two runs in her first season. The right-handed pitcher made her career debut in the circle vs. Elon and totaled 3.1 innings in the shortened 2020 season.

Why Carolina? I chose Carolina because I knew on top of getting to compete for such a great softball program, I would be getting a great education as well.
Favorite Softball Memory: My favorite softball memory was getting to travel the country with my teammates who were also my best friends.
Favorite Coach Saying: "It's a beautiful day for some softball!" – Coach P
Favorite former Carolina player: My mom who played for Coach P
Favorite place on campus: Old Well
Major: exercise and sport science
Favorite emoji: 💀
Pregame Superstition: I always throw the same pre-game sequence in the bullpen when I warm up.
If you could be on a reality tv show, what would it be? Duck Dynasty
Greatest sports moment: The greatest sports moment was watching the Philadelphia Eagles win their first Super Bowl in 2018.
Hidden Talent: I have been snowboarding since I was in third grade.
Favorite UNC softball drill or weight room exercise: deadlifts
Favorite Carolina jersey: white uniforms
One word to describe myself: easy-going
