Tar Heels Move Up To No. 3 In Latest National Rankings

CHAPEL HILL—The University of North Carolina moved up to No. 3 in the nation in the latest OracleITA Division I Men's Team Rankings, released this week.
The Tar Heels finished second at the ITA Indoor National Championships last weekend in Madison, Wisc., beating top-seeded Ohio State along the way. UNC had been No. 5 in the ITA poll prior to Indoor Nationals.
Carolina is 10-1 this season with six wins over ranked opponents (Ohio State, TCU, Florida, Illinois and South Carolina twice).
Four Tar Heels earned spots in the ITA individual rankings, led by No. 11 William Blumberg. Other UNC players ranked include No. 42 Benjamin Sigouin, No. 47 Rinky Hijikata and No. 103 Josh Peck.
A pair of Carolina doubles teams are ranked, including No. 4 Mac Kiger and Simon Soendergaard and No. 16 Blumberg and Brian Cernoch.
