Strong Swims, No NCAA Cuts at UNC Invitational

The Tar Heels hosted the UNC Invitational at Koury Natatorium Saturday to give athletes another chance to qualify for NCAA Championships. NC State, East Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, James Madison and Duke also joined in on the action.
Though none of the Carolina's swimmers made automatic cuts, Tomas Sungaila, Dimitrios Dimitriou, Allie Reiter, Lilly Higgs, Jacob Rauch, Chris Thames, Ellie VanNote and Bryanna Cameron all had strong performances in at least one event, setting them up well to be invited to NCAAs.
The NCAA Championships will take place March 9-11 for diving, March 18-21 for women's swimming, and March 25-28 for men's swimming. The diving and women's swimming competitions will take place in Athens, Ga., while the men will compete in Indianapolis, Ind.
