#1 Women's Tennis Looks Strong Against #10 UVA

CHAPEL HILL - No. 1 North Carolina women's tennis won four of six singles matches over No. 10 Virginia, and the two teams split six doubles matches on Saturday during the second day of the UNC Invitational inside Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
No. 49 Makenna Jones, who notched her 100th career victory on Friday, knocked off No. 11 Natasha Subhash in a thrilling two-set bout, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (7).
Anika Yarlagadda won her second singles match in as many days with a victory over No. 91 Sofia Munera by an impressive, 6-0, 6-1, scoreline.
Freshmen Fiona Crawley and Reilly Tran both picked up wins on Saturday after doing the same thing yesterday against NC State. Crawley downed her second-straight top-50 ranked opponent with a 6-2, 6-2, win over No. 47 Rosie Johanson. Meanwhile, Tran topped No. 104 Amber O'Dell, 7-5, 6-4.
In doubles, No. 3 Alexa Graham and Sara Daavettila improved to 2-0 on the weekend with a 6-4 win over Johanson and O'Dell. No. 45 Cameron Morra and Elizabeth Scotty defeated Johanson and Vivian Glozman, 6-2, and Crawley and Tran combined for a 6-2 win over Glozman and Hibah Shaihk.
Carolina will host No. 7 Duke on Sunday at 9 a.m., while Virginia visits No. 8 NC State on Sunday.
