Update On Attendance At Athletics Events This Semester

Dear Tar Heels,

Hope you are safe and well in the early stages of this new year!

As we welcome our students back to campus, continue our Winter sports competitions and prepare to begin and re-begin our Spring and Fall sports seasons, we want to update you about fan attendance at our events this semester.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to welcome fans back to our athletics venues at this time. State guidelines allow our student-athletes to invite two close family members to their competitions, but we cannot permit additional attendance because of safety precautions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.

We will greatly miss seeing you in person, but everyone's health and safety must be our top priority.

Our student-athletes, coaches and staff remain committed to following community standards and want to do everything they can to compete this semester. Thank you for your continued support – and we look forward to the time when we can welcome you, our fans, back to our events.
