SAN DIEGO—The University of North Carolina's doubles team of Casey Kania and Logan Zapp lost their opening match at the ITA Fall National Championship on Thursday afternoon, dropping a straight-set decision to Pedro Vives and Lui Maxted of Texas Christian, 7-5, 6-3.
Kania and Zapp will open play in the consolation bracket on Friday in San Diego.
