Crawley, Scott Named ACC Players Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina's Elizabeth Scotty has been selected as the ACC Women's Tennis Player of the Week, and teammate Fiona Crawley has been named Freshman of the Week after the Tar Heels won the 2021 ITA National Indoor Team Championship, their second straight and fifth in the last nine years.
A sophomore from Annapolis, Maryland, Scotty was key in North Carolina's indoor championship, helping the Tar Heels to wins over No. 9 Ohio State (4-0), No. 5 Pepperdine (4-1) and No. 3 Texas (4-3). Her victory over Texas' No. 125-ranked Charlotte Chavatipon (4-6, 7-6 [3], 6-2) in singles clinched the match and the title for North Carolina.
Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Crawley went 2-0 in singles on the week. The rookie rallied after losing the first set against Texas' Fernada Labrana to earn the 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory and tie the match at 3-3, allowing UNC to comeback and defeat Texas for the title.
