Daavettila Selected ACC Player Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – North Carolina's Sara Daavettila and Miami's Estela Perez-Somarriba have been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Co-Players of the Week.
Hailing from Williamston, Michigan, Daavettila was stellar in North Carolina's 6-1 win over No. 9 Duke. The senior Tar Heel won both matches playing at the No. 1 position, defeating Duke's No. 9-ranked Kelly Chen (6-3, 6-2), and pairing up with Cameron Morra for a 6-1 victory over Duke's tandem of Meible Chi and Margaryta Bilokin.
Perez-Somarriba won all her matches without losing a set in Miami's wins over No. 47 Notre Dame (7-0), Louisville (6-1) and South Florida (5-2). The senior from Madrid, Spain, posted a 3-0 record at No. 1 singles and a 3-0 record at No. 1 doubles on the week. Perez-Somarriba also earned two ranked wins, a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Notre Dame's No. 109-ranked Cameron Corse, and paired up with Pfennig for a 7-5 win over Notre Dame's No. 19-ranked duo of Corse and Page Freeman.
No. 1 North Carolina visits Virginia Tech on Friday, and hosts Notre Dame on Sunday.
