UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Five Tar Heels continue competition at the NCAA Men's Fencing Championships on Friday at Penn State's Bryce Jordan Center.
Through three rounds of men's sabre, junior Beni Rabinowitz sits in 15th and freshman Alec Mulvaney in 17th.
In men's foil, junior James Mulligan is currently in 12th.
In men's epee, freshman Reza Merchant is 10th and freshman Henry Shugart is 17th.
UNC is eighth in the team standings, with the team champion ultimately decided by the combined men's and women's results.
The top four men in each weapon will advance to the finals on Friday afternoon. All four earn All-America honors, with the fifth through eighth finishers earning second-team All-America honors and the ninth through 12th honorable mention.
