Daavettila Named ACC Player Of The Week

Greensboro, N.C. – North Carolina's Sara Daavettila has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
Daavettila helped the top-ranked Tar Heels to a 2-0 week with wins over No. 5 Florida State (7-0) and No. 30 Miami (7-0). The senior from Williamston, Michigan, posted a 2-0 record in singles and a 1-0 mark in doubles, defeating ranked opponents in each contest.
In singles play, Daavettila defeated Miami's No. 2-ranked Estela Perez-Somarriba (6-7 [5], 6-0, 1-0 [11]) and Florida State's No. 27-ranked Giulia Pairone (6-2, 1-6, 6-2).
Pairing up with teammate Cameron Morra in doubles, the senior knocked off the No. 7-ranked duo of Victoria Allen and Petra Hule (6-2) of Florida State.
Carolina is on the road this weekend at Clemson and Georgia Tech.
