Six Tar Heel Rowers Named Academic All-ACC

Ferner Adds Academic Team to All-ACC Honors
The University of North Carolina rowing team placed six student-athletes on the 2021 Academic All-ACC team.

Carolina's honorees include:

Alessandra De Vito, a junior from Newton, Mass., who majors in economics/political science and rowed on the varsity eight;
Â
Lauren Ferner, a senior from Corning, N.Y., who majors in biology, earned All-ACC honors this season and rowed on the varsity eight;
Â
Hannah Fisher, a senior from Fairfax, Va., who majors in business administration/political science and rowed on the varsity eight;
Â
Jessica Judge, a sophomore from Raleigh, N.C., who majors in statistics and analytics and rowed on the varsity four;
Â
Ashley Lim, a senior from Asheville, N.C., who majors in chemistry and rowed on the varsity eight;
Â
Gigi Maroney, a freshman from New Buffalo, Mich., who majors in political science and rowed on the varsity four.
Â
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the Academic All-ACC team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the Academic All-ACC team.
Â
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
