18 Tar Heels Named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans

RICHMOND, Va. - The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) named 18 North Carolina swimmers and divers to its Scholar All-American Team for the 2020-21 season. The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship.
The women's squad was represented by Emma Cole (HM), Amy Dragelin, Emily Grund, Lilly Higgs, Taylor Hockenberry (HM), Sophie Lindner, Heidi Lowe and Allie Reiter (HM).
The men's team saw Tucker Burhans, Eli Coan, Dimitrios Dimitriou, Anton Down-Jenkins, Alex Hart, Patrick Hussey, Daniel Koenigsperger, Alex Mays (HM), Jack Messenger and Boyd Poelke earn recognition for their work in the classroom.Â
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America honors, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections (also called Honorable Mention) must have also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a "B" time standard for the national championship or participated at a diving zone qualification meet.
