Jamie Loeb In Action Tuesday At US Open

A total of four current and former North Carolina women's tennis players will compete this week at the US Open in Flushing, N.Y. Coverage of all matches are available on ESPN and ESPN+
Jamie Loeb, the 2015 NCAA Singles champion, earned a spot in the singles field by winning three qualifying matches last week. She is slated to face No. 7 seed Iga Swiatek of Poland, the eighth ranked player in the world. They are the third match on the Grandstand court on Tuesday.
The Tar Heels have three players in the doubles draw. Makenna Jones and Elizabeth Scotty, who won the 2021 NCAA Doubles Championship, received a wild card into the field and will take on 15th seed Marie Bouzkova and Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic.
Hayley Carter is playing alongside Astra Sharma in the doubles field and will battle against another duo from the Czech Republic, Tereza Martincova and Marketa Vondrousova. Carter is the 25th ranked doubles player in the world.
The doubles schedule has not yet been announced.
