
Jones/Scotty & Carter To Play Thursday At US Open

North Carolina's 2021 NCAA Doubles champions Makenna Jones and Elizabeth Scotty had their first-round doubles match at the US Open moved to Thursday against 15th seed Marie Bouzkova and Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic. They are scheduled to play on court 10 at approximately 5:35 p.m. ET.
Additionally, Hayley Carter, the 25th ranked doubles player in the world, and former Vanderbilt standout Astra Sharma will battle against another duo from the Czech Republic, Tereza Martincova and Marketa Vondrousova. The first-round match will take place from court 14 at noon ET.Â

On Tuesday, Jamie Loeb was upended by No. 7 seed Iga Swiatek of Poland, 6-3, 6-4, in first-round singles action. Loeb fought admirably against the eighth ranked player in the world, and will now set her sights on mixed doubles playing alongside American Mitchell Krueger.
