Dillon & Kania Advance In Doubles At Elon Invitational

ELON, N.C.—University of North Carolina men's tennis players Mark Dillon and Casey Kania were in action on Friday at the Elon Fall Invitational.Â
Dillon, a junior from Charlotte, and Kania, a freshman from Middlefield, Conn., teamed up and won both of their matches in the Gold Doubles bracket. To open play, Kania and Dillon beat Jon Brann Reid and Leo Bierbaum of UNC Asheville, 7-6 (1). Later in the day, the Tar Heel duo beat Demis Trarmonlis and Andres Silva of Radford, 6-4.
Dillon and Kania will meet Juaquim Almeida and Tom Leblanc of Virginia Commonwealth on Sunday in the finals.
Dillon also competed in singles on Friday, dropping a 6-3, 6-1 decision to D. Martin of Elon. On Saturday at 10:30 a.m., he will meet Alexander Zuckerman of UNCG on the consolation side of the Gold Singles bracket.
Action will continue at the Elon Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday.Â
