The winner of the title matches advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The Carolina women's team are the two-time defending champions, have won the title five times overall and have reached the finals of the event seven years in a row. The 2022 edition will take place Feb. 11-14 in Madison Wisconsin. The Tar Heels won the title the last time it was held in Madison back in 2018, a 4-2 victory over Pepperdine.
The men's indoor championship is Feb. 18-21 in Seattle. The Tar Heels knocked off Baylor, 4-1, in 2021 to garner their second indoor title in program history. UNC became just the second school and the first since Stanford in 2000 to win both the men's and women's championships in the same year.
