#2 Women's Tennis Blanks Charlotte, 4-0

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - No. 2 North Carolina won its first match of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend against Charlotte 4-0 on Friday afternoon from the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center indoor courts.
Carolina (5-0) will face Tulsa on Saturday in the championship match with the winner advancing to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. The Tar Heels are the two-time defending national indoor champions. The Golden Hurricane, also 5-0 thus far in 2022, knocked off Oregon, 4-1, Friday morning.
In singles, Elizabeth Scotty, No.7 Reilly Tran, and No. 19 Fiona Crawley all won handily, dispatching their opponents each in two sets.
No. 34 Alle Sanford and Tran won their doubles matchup, 6-0, on court three, while sixth-ranked Cameron Morra and Carson Tanguilig improved to 17-1 overall and 5-0 in duals by sealing the doubles point with their 6-2 victory from court two.
The 4-0 shutout of the 49ers extended the program record to 52nd consecutive win at home.
Saturday's consolation match between Charlotte and Oregon is slated for 6 p.m.
