Seggerman Named To USA Team At Master'U BNP Paribas

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.—University of North Carolina men's tennis player Ryan Seggerman will represent Team USA at the Master'U BNP Paribas Championships which will be held in Honfleur, France on the weekend of December 2-4.
As the collegiate version of the Davis Cup/Billie Jean King Cup, the Master'U BNP Paribas Championships brings together the top collegiate players from eight countries in an international competition. Seggerman joins UNC women's player Fiona Crawley on Team USA.
Seggerman is one of the three USA Men's players selected to compete in this event. He will join the likes of Danielle Collins (Virginia), Brandon Holt (USC), Aleks Kovacevic (Illinois), and Ena Shibahara (UCLA) as collegiate alums who have participated in this event.
The event begins on Friday, December 2 and runs through Sunday, December 4, when the champion will be crowned. The United States has won eight of the past nine championships and nine overall championships in the tournament's 15-year history.
The other seven nations joining the United States in competition are Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Matches consist of two men's and women's singles, one men's and women's doubles and one mixed doubles. The country that wins four of these seven matches is the victor and advances in the tournament.
