Seggerman Advances In ITA Fall Nationals Consolation Bracket

SAN DIEGO—University of North Carolina graduate student Ryan Seggerman won his match on Thursday at the Intercollegiate Fall National Championships, advancing to the quarterfinals of the consolation bracket in the process.
Seggerman beat Gavin Young of Michigan, 7-6 (7-1), 6-3 in the consolation Round of 16 on Thursday afternoon at the Barnes Tennis Center. He moves on to Friday's consolation quarterfinal against Harris Walker of Harvard, who advanced on Thursday with a straight-set victory over Ryder Jackson of California. Friday's match is slated to begin a 2:30 p.m. Eastern.
Meanwhile, in the doubles consolation bracket, Seggerman and fellow graduate student Brian Cernoch dropped their Round of 16 match against Gabriel Huber and Michael Minasyan of Wisconsin, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-5) on Thursday.
