CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Tar Heel teams carried on a long-running tradition this year by participating in the Share Your Holidays program.
Each year, UNC teams "adopt" local families through the Share Your Holidays program, which is affiliated with Orange County Social Services. Families provide wish lists and the student-athletes use those to shop for gifts that help make the holidays brighter. Most shopped together before the start of finals.
The Tar Heels appreciated being able to collaborate with their teammates and make an impact locally. "It means a lot to our team to be able to pour back into our community," said junior Katie Dixon, who organized the field hockey team's efforts.

'Tis the season! Lots of our Tar Heel teams went on shopping trips as part of the Share Your Holidays program through @ocncgov to help bring toys to children living in Orange County this holiday season 🎁🧸#GoHeels x @NCelectriccoop pic.twitter.com/ZfrJHS1NCH
