Cernoch & Kiger Named ACC Doubles Team Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Brian Cernoch and Mac Kiger have been named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week, and Virginia's Ryan Goetz has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Goetz won the clinching match in the Cavaliers' victory over Georgia Tech in the ITA Kick-Off Weekend, earning UVA a spot in next month's ITA National Team Indoor Championship. Goetz posted two dominant singles victories and also won both doubles matches, helping UVA win the doubles point in each.
Cernoch and Kiger went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles as 17th-ranked North Carolina hosted the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Chapel Hill. The duo beat Brian Berdusco and Simen Brathom of Northwestern, 6-2, on Saturday in the first round, and knocked off the No. 2-ranked doubles team in the nation when they downed Justin Boulais and James Trotter of Ohio State, 6-4, in Sunday's championship match.
