Poole Shoots 69 To Finish 2nd At NC State

Ergood Third in Wolfpack Individual Invitational
Kenan Poole shot a 3-under-par 69 to finish second in the Wolfpack Individual Invitational Sunday at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course at NC State.
Poole shot 74-69 for a 143 total and finished the 36-hole event five strokes behind medalist Clay Stirsman of Wake Forest, who shot 70-68 for 6-under 138.
UNC's Dougie Ergood had a first-round 69 on Saturday and tied for third at 1-over 145. George McNeely (74-73) tied for seventh at 147 and Ryan Smith (76-73) tied for 13th in the 41-player field at 149.
Poole was 2 over through five holes today, but birdied the sixth and eight holes to get even and made three birdies and no bogeys on the back nine to shoot 3 under.
