Women's Tennis Continues Reign Atop National Rankings

North Carolina continues to reign atop the Division I Women's ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings after a pair of home conference victories last week to remain unbeaten on the season.
Head coach Brian Kalbas secured his 700th career victory last Sunday in a 6-1 victory to become only the fourth coach in Division I women's tennis history to reach that win milestone.
The Tar Heels (17-0, 6-0 ACC) now head into perhaps its toughest stretch of the conference season with four-straight road matches, all against nationally-ranked opponents.
Carolina embarks on its bi-annual swing through the state of Florida this coming weekend with a Friday matchup with No. 9 Miami at 5 p.m. and visits No. 59 Florida State on Sunday at noon.
UNC will then set its sights the following weekend against a pair of in-state rivals, No. 23 Wake Forest on April 1 and No. 2 NC State on April 3.
A new set of singles and doubles rankings were also announced on Wednesday.
The Tar Heels continue to boast five singles players in the rankings - No. 10 Reilly Tran, No. 12 Cameron Morra, No. 16 Elizabeth Scotty, No. 33 Carson Tanguilig and No. 34 Fiona Crawley.
In doubles, the pairing of Crawley and Scotty continue to sit atop the rankings despite not playing together since late February.
Alle Sanford and Tran check in at No. 39, while Crawley and Tran were paired together last weekend for the first time this spring and jumped up nine spots to No. 71.
