CHAPEL HILL - North Carolina is the top overall seed for the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Team Championship and was awarded as a host school for one of 16 regional sites. This is the second straight season that the Tar Heels were selected as the No. 1 seed in the 64-team field.
UNC will host Iowa State, South Carolina and South Carolina State on Saturday, May 7, and Sunday, May 8, at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.
North Carolina (24-2) will take on SC State (9-9) on Saturday at 1 p.m. That match will be proceeded by a first-round bout between Iowa State (14-6) and South Carolina (14-10) at 10 a.m. The two first-round winners will meet Sunday at 2 p.m., for the right to advance to the NCAA Super Regional round the following weekend.
The eight super regional winners will advance to the NCAA Championships site at the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois.
