Men's Tennis Finishes 14th In Final ITA Poll

CHAPEL HILL—The University of North Carolina men's tennis team finished No. 14 in the final ITA team rankings for the 2022 season, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced.
The final ITA top 10 was No. 1 Virginia, No. 2 Florida, No. 3 TCU, No. 4 Baylor, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 6 Tennessee, No. 7 Kentucky, No. 8 Michigan, No. 9 Wake Forest and No. 10 South Carolina.
Other Atlantic Coast Conference teams in the final top 50 other than the Tar Heels included No. 18 NC State, No. 21 Duke, No. 22 Florida State, No. 26 Louisville, No. 30 Miami, No. 38 Notre Dame and No. 43 Georgia Tech.
Carolina finished the season with a record of 18-9, winning 10 of their final 13 matches to close the season.The Tar Heels made their eighth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament round of 16.
Carolina hosted the first two rounds of NCAA play at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, beating Navy and Pac-12 regular season champion Arizona to advance out of regionals for the eighth NCAA Tournament in a row.
