Fourth Tar Heel To Take Title In Last 10 Years
Kenan Poole, a rising senior at the University of North Carolina, made a 15-foot putt for birdie on the first playoff hole to win the 2022 North Carolina Amateur Sunday at the Greensboro Country Club.

Poole is the fourth UNC men's golfer to win the North Carolina Amateur in the last decade, joining Josh Martin in 2014, Carter Jenkins in 2015 and Peter Fountain in 2020.

The Raleigh, N.C., native shot 66-69-68-73 for 12-under 276 to get into a two-man playoff with Ryan O'Neil of Waxhaw, N.C.

Earlier this year, Poole was co-medalist at the Ross Collegiate in Southern Pines, N.C.

This was the 62nd North Carolina Amateur. The tournament is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
