Three Tar Heels In PGA TOUR University Top 25

University of North Carolina men's golfers Austin Greaser, Dylan Menante and Ryan Burnett are among the top 25 players listed in the pre-season Velocity Global Ranking for the PGA TOUR University's Class of 2023.
Greaser is No. 4, Menante is No. 8 and Burnett is 24th in the preseason rankings.
PGA TOUR University, In partnership with the World Amateur Golf Ranking, ranks collegiate players based on their average performance in collegiate events, PGA TOUR tournaments and select DP World Tour events. At the end of the college golf season, the top-five finishers will earn membership on Korn Ferry Tour and players finishing 6-15 will earn membership on PGA TOUR Canada or PGA TOUR Latinoamérica.
Each of the three Tar Heels are ranked in the top 75 in the current World Amateur Golf Rankings with Menante sixth, Greaser eighth and Burnett 72nd.
Carolina, which finished fifth in the 2021 and 2022 NCAA Championships, is one of three schools with at least three players in the Velocity Global Ranking's top 25. Florida has four players ranked, including Fred Biondi at No. 1, and UNC and Pepperdine each have three.
Greaser and Menante, who transferred to UNC from Pepperdine after the 2021-22 season, both won two tournaments last season. Burnett tied for first place after 72 holes of stroke play in the 2022 NCAA Championship and was one of four players in a playoff for the individual national title.
UNC begins play in the 2022-23 season in early September at the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Classic.
