Two Tar Heels Represent At World Wrestling Championships

BELGRADE, SERBIA – North Carolina's wrestling program will be represented by two Tar Heels at the United World Wrestling World Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia from September 10-18.
Lachlan McNeil (141), a redshirt freshman from Toronto will be representing Wrestling Canada at 65kg as the 13th seed, and competes starting on Saturday. During his freshman season in Chapel Hill, McNeil posted a 6-1 record, including a title at the Wolfpack Wrestling Club Open.
"I'm beyond excited to represent my country for the first time at a Senior World Championships," said McNeil. "It's an incredible opportunity that I plan on learning from and taking advantage of."

Tar Heel wrestling alumnus, Ethan Ramos will also be participating, representing Puerto Rico in the 86kg and seeded 7th.
