Brown Named ACC Cross Country Co-Performer Of The Week

GREENSBORO, N.C.  – University of North Carolina sophomore Brynn Brown was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country women's co-performer of the week on Tuesday, the conference announced. The honor comes following her outstanding performance last weekend on Friday September 16.
ACC Women's Co-Performer of the Week
Brynn Brown, North Carolina; Denton, Texas
Brown was also named the USTFCCCA Division I Women's Athlete of the Week after posting a first-place 6K time of 20:18.6 to lead North Carolina to the team championship of the Coaching Tree Invitational at Bloomington, Indiana. UNC placed atop a 12-team field that included three ranked teams. It was the second career win for Brown, the 2021 ACC Freshman of the Year, and her first since the 2021 Battle in Beantown on Sept. 24 of last year.
ACC Women's Co-Performer of the Week
Sam Bush, NC State; Cincinnati, Ohio
Bush recorded her first career collegiate win with a blistering time of 16:14.5 at the Adidas XC Challenge, pulling away from teammate Marlee Starliper in the final 1K to win by six seconds and lead the top-ranked Wolfpack to a team victory. Bush led a 13-team field of 106 runners as she shaved 27 seconds off her time from last season on the same Cary, N.C., course and placed more than 15 seconds ahead of last year's overall winning time.
ACC Men's Performer of the Week
Fearghal Curtin, Florida State; Cork, Ireland
Named ACC Performer of the Week for the second time this season after posting a six-mile time of 29:09.4 to lead the Seminoles to a dual meet win over nationally 29th-Tennessee last Friday at Boone, N.C. Curtin won the race by three seconds to lead FSU's winning 22-point team effort.
