Fencing Announces 2022-23 Schedule

CHAPEL HILL - Highlighted by a home event in mid February, the North Carolina fencing program and head coach Matt Jednak have announced its schedule for the 2022-23 season. Individual competitions will take place in the fall, with team dual meets and championships in the spring.
The Tar Heel Invitational will take place on Sunday, Feb. 12, the first regular-season home bout in Chapel Hill since 2010.
Carolina begins individual competition at the October North American Cup on October 7-10 in Minneapolis, Minn. UNC Carolina will then travel to Philadelphia twice in the fall for the Temple Open and the Elite Invitational Duals. The 2022 Temple Open will be the 16th time in the last 17 years that the program has participated in the competition.
The Tar Heels will also head west for the Western Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo.
When the calendar flips to 2023, team competition begins at the Penn State Duels on January 15 in University Park, Pa. The month of January also includes the Temple Duals on Jan. 20 and the Penn Duals on Jan. 21 in Philadelphia.
Carolina will be at the Northwestern Duals Nov. 4-5 in Evanston, Ill.
Post season begins with the ACC Championships on February 25-26 in Chestnut Hill, Mass. NCAA Regionals are slated for March 11 and the NCAA Championships in Durham, N.C. on March 23-26.
