Crawley, Yarlagadda Reach Finals At Fall Ranked Spotlight

CARY, N.C. - Fiona Crawley and Anika Yarlagadda continued their winning ways on Saturday at the Fall Ranked Spotlight at Cary Tennis Park.
Crawley, who reached the NCAA Singles Semifinals last spring to close out a record-setting sophomore season, has picked up right where she left off with four dominating victories over the last two days. The best thus came Saturday morning when she cruised past Eryn Cayetano from Southern California, the No. 1 singles player in the nation, 6-2, 6-1.
Crawley also took out No. 51 Sydni Ratliff of Oklahoma State, 6-2, 6-1, to reach the final.Â
The junior star will face USC freshman Maddy Sieg in Sunday's A-1 Draw Championship match. Sieg, who is ranked No. 6 in the ITA Newcomer Rankings this fall, topped Carolina's No. 28 Carson Tanguilig in the quarters.Â
Anika Yarlagadda continued her winning ways with a 6-2, 6-3, victory over Princeton's Zoe Howard in the A-2 Draw semifinals and then outlasted Jeanette Mireles from Texas A&M, 7-6 (5), 6-1, to advance to the finals where she will face NC State's Amelia Rajecki.
No. 31 Reilly Tran picked up a win over No. 69 Domenika Turkovic of Arizona State, 6-2, 6-4, in the A-1 Back Draw.Â
The Tar Heels will also take part in doubles action on Sunday with Crawley and Yarlagadda scheduled to face NC State's Abigail Rencheli and Sophie Abrams. In addition, Tanguilig and Tran will face Miami's Alexa Noel and Daevenia Achong.Â
