Cross Country Racks Up USTFCCCA Academic Awards

Both the men's and women's squads were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams, an honor bestowed to teams with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period. The men's team posted a team GPA of 3.27, while the women had a cumulative GPA of 3.416.
Overall, there were 249 different programs who were named All-Academic Teams for their efforts during the 2022 season.Â
Individually, seven Tar Heels earned distinction as NCAA Division I Cross Country USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-America at the NCAA Championships.
Carolina's Patrick Anderson, Will Coogan and Atlantic Coast Conference Runner of the Year Parker Wolfe were men's honorees, while Brynn Brown, Kelsey Harrington, Eva Klingbeil and Sasha Neglia earned the honor on the women's side.
The ACC will announce its 2022 cross country academic awards later this week.
