Four Tar Heels Competing In Pan American Games

Four current or former University of North Carolina student-athletes are representing the United States over the next few weeks in Santiago, Chile.
Tar Heels competing for Team USA include field hockey alumnae Ashley Hoffman and Meredith Sholder, former women's tennis star Jamie Loeb and men's golf's Dylan Menante, who is currently a fifth-year senior at Carolina.

- How to Watch: More than 1,900 hours of competition will be available online at https://www.panamsportschannel.org/main.
- Paris Olympic Qualifications: Nine sports will have the opportunity to qualify for the Paris Olympic Games during the Pan American Games competition. Those with heavy college footprints are: women's field hockey, men's and women's water polo, and artistic swimming. For additional information about Paris qualifications, please review the USOPC press release. Please also note that the team members who qualify Team USA to compete at the Olympic Games are not necessarily the team members who will be selected to represent the U.S. in Olympic competition; selections for the U.S. Olympic Team will largely occur in 2024.
