O'Connor Garners ACC Wrestler Of The Week Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina 157-pounder Austin O'Connor has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
The announcement comes following O'Connor decision (3-1) against NC State's seventh-ranked Ed Scott last Friday night. O'Connor, who currently sits at 16-0 entering next weekend's ACC Championships, has registered 14 bonus point victories on the season.
O'Connor becomes one of three wrestlers in the conference to collect the conference's Wrestler of the Week honors multiple times this season, joining Pitt's Reece Heller and Virginia Tech's Caleb Henson.
A four-time All-America honoree and the 2021 National Champion at 149-pounds, O'Connor maintained his spot in this week's InterMat Wrestling rankings at No. 2 in the nation, following Friday night's top-10 victory.
Austin and the Tar Heels return to action next Sunday, traveling to Raleigh for the 2023 ACC Wrestling Championships, hosted by NC State.
