Rowing Squares Off With Navy, Tennessee Saturday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. - In the final tune-up of the 2023 regular season prior to next month's ACC Rowing Championships, the North Carolina rowing program squared off with Navy and Tennessee Saturday at the UVA Invite.Â
In the morning, five UNC crews raced against Navy. The third varsity eight finished in a time of 7:36.8, as the second varsity eight crossed the finish line at 7:17.0. In the first varsity eight race, no time was recorded for either boat.Â
The Tar Heel first and second varsity four boats finished with nearly identical times, at 8:04.0 and 8:04.5, respectively.Â
Against the Volunteers in the afternoon, the third varsity eight crew finished with a mark of 7:37.1, as the second varsity eight crossed at 7:33.6. The varsity varsity eight ended their day with a time of 7:14.6.Â
The first varsity four improved their time from the morning by two seconds, crossing at 8:02.3, as the second varsity four finished with a time of 8:14.4.Â
Up next, the Tar Heels will return to Lake Wheeler in Raleigh on May 12-13, for the 2023 ACC Rowing Championships.Â
