Brown Picks Up NFCA All-Region Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – North Carolina shortstop Alex Brown was named to the NFCA's Division I Southeast all-region team as announced Thursday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Brown, who was a second-team All-ACC honoree, picked up third team honors.
A sophomore from Savannah, Ga., Brown hit a team-best .399 on the season, the sixth-highest batting averaging in the ACC with the fifth-most hits (63) in the regular season. In ACC play, the Carolina shortstop hit .434 with 33 hits, two home runs, a double, a triple and 17 runs. She led the team with 19 multi-hit games on the season while also recording five multi-RBI outings. Brown finished the regular season on a 17-game hit streak, the longest by any Tar Heel since Leah Murray (15) in 2019.
She is the first Tar Heel to garner all-region honors since 2019.
