Multiple Tar Heels Selected For NCAA WTEN Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the second consecutive year, five singles players and two doubles pairs from the University of North Carolina have been selected for the NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Championships.
The five singles players named to the 64-player field equals the school record set in 2021.
Junior Fiona Crawley and graduate transfer Abbey Forbes will compete in the NCAA singles field for the third time in their careers.
Sophomore Carson Tanguilig will compete in NCAA singles play for the second consecutive season while Anika Yarlagadda and Reese Brantmeier will compete on the NCAA singles stage for the first time.
Due to being seeded and in singles play, Crawley and Brantmeier have both earned All-American honors.
In doubles, the tandems of Brantmeier and Scotty and Crawley and Tanguilig received at-large bids. The Tar Heel duo of Brantmeier and Scotty enter postseason play ranked No. 9 while Crawley and Tanguilig are ranked No. 13.
Brantmeier and Scotty are seeded in doubles play and have also earned All-American honors.
The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 22-27 at the UTSA Campus in Orlando, Florida, after the conclusion of the team championship.
