Vazquez Montano Claims Second Medal At World Championships

FUKUOKA, Japan – UNC rising senior Aranza Vazquez Montano claimed her second medal of the 2023 World Aquatic Championships on Tuesday, winning silver in diving's mixed three-meter and 10-meter team event.
China finished first with 489.65 points, followed by Vazquez and team Mexico with 455.35 points, while Germany claimed bronze with 432.15 points.
Former Tar Heel diver Anton Down-Jenkins helped New Zealand to a 13th-place finish in the event.
Vazquez earned her first world championship medal Saturday with a third-place finish in the one-meter springboard competition.
Down-Jenkins, Vazquez and Alex Hart will each compete in the three-meter springboard competition later this week.
