Men's Tennis To Compete At Gamecock Ranked +1

The University of North Carolina men's tennis team will kick off its 2023 fall campaign this weekend when it competes at the Gamecock Ranked +1 event hosted by the University of South Carolina.
Action will begin on Friday and run through Sunday in Columbia, S.C. Tar Heels Anuj Watane, Benjamin Kittay and possibly Will Jansen and Karl Poling are scheduled to participate. In the ITA preseason singles rankings, sophomore Jansen is the highest-ranked UNC player at #70, followed by graduate students Poling at #93 and Watabe at #106.
Participating schools are slated to include South Carolina, Virginia, Arizona, Auburn, Duke, Columbia, UNC, NC State, Wake Forest and Michigan State.
Play will begin each day at 9 a.m. with waves to follow at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday will include two rounds of singles, Saturday will be two rounds of doubles and one round of singles and Sunday will wrap up with the final round of doubles and singles.
Singles will be played best two out of three with full third sets. Doubles will be played as eight-game pro sets.
