Softball's Kat Rodriguez Earns Silver At The 2024 Bicentennial Bolivarian Games

AYACUCHO, Peru – Over the past two weeks, UNC softball infielder Kat Rodriguez has been playing for Team Columbia in the 2024 Bicentennial Bolivarian Games.
Rodriguez and Columbia earned the silver medal after going 4-2 in the competition. She scored five runs across the tournament and made six starts in the infield.
In Columbia's six games they outscored opponents 40-19, including a 19-0 win over Bolivia on Dec. 3
The Bolivarian Games are a multi-sport event meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that are not contested in the Olympic Games.
Rodriguez is set to debut for the Tar Heels this season as a grad transfer. In her college career she has played in 144 games, making 141 starts with 141 hits, 61 RBI, 83 runs, 11 homer runs, 10 stolen bases, and a .323 career batting average. She has been competing for Team Columbia since she was 15. She competed in the Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, Colombia in June of 2022 and earned a silver medal to help Team Colombia qualify for the Pan American Games in October of 2023.
