Four Tar Heels Named To Ben Hogan Award List

The University of North Carolina is one of two men's golf programs with four players on the 2024 Ben Hogan Award watch list as David Ford, Maxwell Ford, Austin Greaser and Dylan Menante are among the early-season candidates for the National Player of the Year award.

Carolina and Vanderbilt have four players each on the 40-player list. Auburn has three, and Arizona State, East Tennessee State, Ohio State and UCLA have two apiece.

The Ben Hogan Award will be announced May 20 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

Carolina's four players are all ranked in the top 40 in the country among collegiate players and the top 32 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

David Ford is the No. 2 player in the college rankings and No. 4 in the world; Maxwell Ford is No. 3 in college and No. 32 in the world; Menante is No. 6 in the world and No. 38 in college; and Greaser is No. 11 in the world and No. 39 in college.

David Ford, Greaser and Menante helped the United States win the Walker Cup at St Andrews in September, Ford and Greaser were Team USA members of the winning Palmer Cup squad last June and Menante won a bronze medal in the Pan Am Games in November.
