MTEN Grabs No. 5 ACC Seed, Opens Play Thursday In Cary

North Carolina's men's tennis team has earned the fifth seed in the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Tennis Championship, which opens Wednesday, April 17 at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
The Tar Heels will begin play on Thursday at 10 a.m. in the second round against the winner of Wednesday's first-round matchup between No. 12 seed Miami and No. 13 seed Boston College.
Virginia earned the top seed. The Cavaliers finished up the ACC slate with a perfect, 12-0 mark for the fourth straight season and also earned the No. 1 spot for the fourth year in a row.
The top four seeds all picked up double byes into the Friday quarterfinals. Virginia is followed by No. 2 seed Wake Forest, No. 3 NC State and No. 4 Duke.
Wednesday's first-round match finds No. 12 Miami facing No. 13 Boston College at 10 a.m.
Second-round play will be held Thursday, starting at 10 a.m. with No. 8 Notre Dame versus No. 9 Clemson and No. 5 UNC versus the Miami-Boston College winner. At 12:30 p.m., No. 7 Georgia Tech takes on No. 10 Louisville and No. 6 Florida State faces off with No. 11 Virginia Tech.
The quarterfinals start at 10 a.m. on Friday with top-seeded Virginia facing off with the Notre Dame-Clemson winner and No. 4 Duke battling Boston College, Carolina or Miami. The 12:30 p.m. quarterfinals feature No. 2 Wake Forest playing the Georgia Tech-Louisville winner and No. 3 NC State battling the Florida State-Virginia Tech winner.
The semifinals will be played beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the championship match slated for 10 a.m. Sunday.
The Saturday semifinal match featuring the highest remaining seed and the Sunday championship match will be broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.
Single-day tickets are priced at $10 for adults (ages 18 and older) and $7 for youth ages 17 and under. Admission is free for children 9 and under. ACC college students get in free with school ID. A full championship pass for all five days is priced at $25. All seating for the tournament is general admission.
