STATE COLLEGE, PA. – North Carolina wrestling alum Tyler Eischens will travel to Pennsylvania this weekend, taking part in the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

The two-day event, which begins Friday at the Bryce Jordan Center on the campus of Penn State, is used to determine the United States' Olympic wrestling team for the 2024 Summer Games in Paris.
Â
Eischens, competing at 77 KG in the Greco-Roman division, earned the No. 7 seed for this weekend's Olympic Trials, matching up against No. 2 Benji Peak in the quarterfinals.

Two weeks ago at the Last Chance Olympic Team Trials Qualifier, Eischens went 3-0 on the day to earn his spot in this weekend's trials. The Anoka, Minn. native began the tournament with back-to-back technical falls, winning by decision in the first place bout.

Eischens looks to join former Carolina wrestler Ethan Ramos, who qualified for the Paris Olympics in March.
