
Carolina Blanks Duke; Advances To Semifinals

CARY, N.C. -- In its first match of the 2024 ACC Championship tournament, the No. 5 North Carolina Tar Heels (20-3) defeated the Duke Blue Devils (15-9), 4-0 to advance to the semifinals.
Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig wasted no time putting Carolina in a position to secure the doubles point. The No. 11 tandem put together an impressive 6-1 victory on court one.
Next, on court two, Elizabeth Scotty and Anika Yarlagadda clinched the doubles point for the Tar Heels with a 6-3 win.
The Tar Heels began single splay outdoors before the weather forced the teams to transition indoors.
After transitioning inside, Elizabeth Scotty, Tatum Evans and Anika Yarlagadda won in straight sets to clinch the quarterfinal victory over rival Duke.
