Rowing Set To Race Close To Home At Lake Wheeler Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. – The North Carolina rowing program will race close to home on Friday and Saturday as the Tar Heels cohost the Lake Wheeler Invitational with Duke. The Tar Heels and Blue Devils are part of a field of 18 competing at Lake Wheeler over a two-day span.

Friday's first session starts at 10 a.m. and will run until approximately 12:30. Racing begins again at 3 p.m. and runs until 5:30.

On Saturday, racing starts at 9 a.m. and wraps up at 11:30.

Entry to the park is free. Parking at the lake is $20 per car, payable by credit card only, and spectators are encouraged to carpool due to limited space. UNC and Duke students get free parking with student ID.

All racing will be available for viewing via live stream, with the Friday morning session here, Friday afternoon here and Saturday morning here.

Joining UNC and Duke in the field are ACC rivals Boston College, Clemson, Louisville, Miami and Syracuse. Additional schools competing are Alabama, Boston University, Georgetown, Iowa, Kansas, Navy, Penn, Tennessee, Tulsa, UCF and Washington State.

This weekend's racing is the last of the regular season. UNC will be back at Lake Wheeler on May 17 and 18 for the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Championship.
