Five Wrestlers Land On All-ACC Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Five North Carolina wrestlers have been named to the 2023-24 All-ACC Wrestling Academic Team, the league announced Monday.

Gavin Kane, Cade Lautt, Lachlan McNeil, Spencer Moore and Jayden Scott earned recognition from the conference office for their efforts in the classroom.

Monday's announcement is tied for the most in a single-season in program history, matching the 2013-14 team with five honorees.

In order to be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must have a 3.0 grade point average in the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative mark during their academic career. In addition, the student-athlete must compete in at least 50 percent of their team's matches.

Kane earns academic honors from the league for the second time in his career, as Lautt, McNeil, Moore and Scott land on the academic team for the first time in their careers.
