CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- In the first round of the 2024 NCAA Tennis Championships, the North Carolina Tar Heels (23-3) defeated the Navy Midshipmen (24-8), 4-0 to advance to Saturday's regional final.

The Tar Heels quickly picked up the doubles point after wins on courts three and one. First, the duo of Abbey Forbes and Reilly Tran won 6-1 on court three to give Carolina the doubles point advantage. Then, on court one, Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig secured the doubles point for North Carolina with a 6-1 victory.

Carolina kept its momentum after transitioning to singles play. Three Tar Heels, Carson Tanguilig, Reilly Tran and Fiona Crawley won in straight sets to seal the first round victory for North Carolina.
