Maxwell Ford To Play For USA In Palmer Cup

Maxwell Ford, a rising senior at the University of North Carolina, was added to the United States roster for the 2024 Palmer Cup, where he will team with his brother, David, also a member of the Tar Heels.
The 2024 Palmer Cup will be hosted July 5-7, by Lahinch Golf Club in Lahinch, Ireland.
Maxwell Ford had Carolina's second-best scoring average (71.19) this past season and earned third-team All-America and All-Atlantic Coast Conference and All-PING/East Region honors. He went 3-0-1 with one match unfinished in match play, including wins at The Old Course in the St Andrews Links Collegiate, the East Lake Cup semifinals and ACC semifinals. He was leading his match against Florida State in the NCAA quarterfinals when the Seminoles clinched the team point.
The Peachtree Corners, Ga., native finished the season ranked No. 25 in the country. He was one of two Tar Heels to play every round this season and helped Carolina win seven tournaments, which tied the all-time single-season UNC record, and finished tied for fifth in the NCAA Championship.
The Palmer Cup is a Ryder Cup-style tournament featuring the top men's and women's university/college golfers matching the United States against a team of international players.
Last year, David Ford and Austin Greaser helped the United States beat the internationals , 32-28, at the Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa.
The Arnold Palmer Cup was co-founded in 1997 by Arnold Palmer and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The United States leads the Palmer Cup series, 14-12-1.
